Check the first player experience before buying exposure
Write down what a new player should understand in the first minute. Ask an unfamiliar tester to join without coaching. Watch whether they find the objective, use the controls and recognize a reward. Fix the confusing parts before increasing promotion.
This is a practical launch-readiness test, not a benchmark guaranteeing success. A creator can show a compelling mechanic, but the game has to deliver that mechanic when viewers arrive. Record the promise your launch video makes and verify it against the live build.
Roblox acquisition analytics measures where players come from and how those sources convert. Review these reports alongside your own first-session observations when deciding whether a campaign needs more exposure or a better onboarding experience.

Pick one objective and one audience
A launch campaign might aim to introduce a specific mechanic, bring people to an event or test interest in a new game. Choose one primary objective so the brief has a clear job. “Reach everyone who plays Roblox” is too broad to help a creator decide what to film.
Define the audience by an interest you can demonstrate: obstacle-course challenges, driving comparisons, cooperative survival or collection strategies. Look for creators whose recent content fits that experience. Review several clips and how they explain gameplay, not only the largest number on their profile.
For a first test, ask each creator to explore a different angle on the same mechanic. That helps you distinguish which story attracted attention without introducing a new game feature for every video. Keep the landing destination consistent for a meaningful comparison.
Write a brief creators can actually use
Give the creator enough information to make an original video without scripting every reaction. Include what must be accurate, what can be interpreted freely and what would cause rejection. If you provide source footage, state the permitted use and any restrictions.
A useful brief can be short. Attach the required game link, identify the platform and state the measurement window. Describe the required sponsorship disclosure in the instructions before a creator spends time filming.
- Game and live destination: the exact experience and intended player.
- Creative task: one challenge, mechanic or story to demonstrate.
- Materials: approved footage or instructions for original recording.
- Required information: game name, accurate claims and disclosure.
- Review terms: eligible views, rate, cap, deadline and measurement window.
- Tracking: the Share Link and report period for this creative.
Budget the reward pool and fee separately
Illustrative BloxAds budget: a $500 creator reward pool plus a 20% management fee is a $600 funding total. At a hypothetical $1.00 per 1,000 approved views, $500 corresponds to 500,000 approved views mathematically. That is a planning conversion, not a guaranteed delivery target.
Individual earning caps and reserved commitments constrain how the pool can be used. A collection of popular rejected videos does not become approved spend. Choose a budget you can use to learn whether the creative and audience match, then judge the completed review rather than projecting every impression into a player.
Before launching, use the current pricing calculator and campaign terms. The actual brief can use a different rate, cap or fee than this example. Keep the total funding amount, reward pool and management fee on separate lines in your decision sheet.
Track video views and new players as different outcomes
Create Roblox Share Links for the channels or creatives you want to compare. Roblox documents these links as a way to track acquisition across channels. Use a clear naming convention and retain the report period with each result.
In your campaign report, keep four columns separate: approved video views, creator rewards, Share Link activity and reported new players. A thousand video views is not a thousand new players, and a player who joined through another route should not be credited to a clip without evidence.
BloxAds can record campaign results and manually entered Roblox acquisition counts. Provider view tracking does not make player acquisition automatic. If you enter acquisition reports manually, record the source, date range and any differences in reporting windows.

Review the test before increasing the budget
At the end of the agreed window, compare each creative’s approved results and the corresponding acquisition report. Add the qualitative feedback: what viewers asked, whether the game name was understood and whether newcomers reached the first meaningful activity.
Choose your next change based on the evidence. If the video drew interest but people left immediately, improve the destination. If newcomers enjoyed the game but few viewers followed the link, test a clearer gameplay promise and call to action. These are hypotheses to investigate, not automatic diagnoses.
Keep a concise campaign log with the original brief, budget, results and decision. Over time, this makes it easier to explain why a certain creator angle is worth another test and to avoid repeating a launch that did not answer your original question.
Questions answered
Can I promote a Roblox game without a paid budget?
You can publish original gameplay, invite relevant testers and build community interest. Paid campaigns are an additional option; they do not replace a playable game or guarantee new players.
Are video views a reliable player count?
No. Track video exposure and Roblox acquisition separately, using Share Links and consistent report windows where possible.
